Ravenna Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

Location: Ravenna, Ohio Size: 14.2 acres Description: This project included conducting preliminary studies, preliminary and final engineering design, preparation of bid documents, and construction management to upgrade treatment levels and to expand the Plant from its current average daily flow capacity of 2.5 MGD to 2.8 MGD year-round. The plant has equalization basins and is also equipped with sludge digesters, dewatering facilities and drying beds. Services: Engineering and Construction Management Challenges: A significant effort was required for hydraulic analysis to correct some existing hydraulic deficiencies; to correctly incorporate the new facilities with the existing facilities in order to prevent short circuiting of the wastewater through the plant; and to increase the peak hydraulic capacity of the plant to approximately 6.0 MGD.
