The Ohio Turnpike Commission selected Richard L. Bowen + Associates
to design a new set of service plazas at Milepost 20.8 of the Ohio Turnpike.
These new plazas will be at the far west end of the Turnpike, approximately
20 miles from the Indiana border.
The project involves the construction of two new plaza buildings at the same time,
one on each side of the Turnpike. Each building will have interior
amenities that include a full food court, vending machines, video games,
spacious restrooms, a truck driver lounge and shower area, a truck driver laundry
and a large lobby with a multitude of informational elements. Outdoor features for
each plaza include a pet enclosure, picnic area, and two large fueling areas,
one for passenger cars and one for trucks.
