Harvey Rice K-8

This school was programmed to accommodate 450 students and staff. This is a traditional modeled school where curriculum is focused by grade level. The distribution of program spaces are intended to provide separation of the preK-5 classes from the 6th-8th grade classroom areas. Dining, gymnasium, art, music, and media center spaces are shared.

The site is located in a commercial/retail area adjacent to neighborhoods, it is intended to serve many of the students in walking distance. Site circulation, drop-off areas, and parking at this facility was challenging and a significant focus during the schematic design phase of the project.
