The Opportunity
We are looking for creative, passionate and energetic individuals to support and serve as a project team member in pre-design, programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration tasks within general parameters set by the Project Architect and/or Project Manager and coordinate with other architectural project team members assuring delegated tasks are performed. Develop design and technical solutions independently or under general direction of Project Architect and Project Manager. May lead projects as required.
This position is open at either our Cleveland or Erie offices.
Assist with project management tasks such as developing project scope, work plans, schedules, monitoring work progress, and managing requests for scope changes as required. Ensure effective communication of project requirements, established presentation and quality control procedures to team members, and coordinate meetings and communications with Project Architect and/or Project Manager, other departments, and outside consultants regarding project issues and/or technical coordination in project development.
Produce construction documents under general direction. Assist in data collection, documentation, and analysis for programming and existing facilities assessment. Perform materials research, writes specifications, and coordinate specifications with Specification Writer. Research all applicable building codes, perform required calculations and document the means of complying with code requirements for the project. Coordinate with government regulatory agencies. Review shop drawings and ensures that drawings are prepared in accordance with Company standards.
Perform construction site visits and construction administration tasks under general supervision. Ensure that drawings are prepared in accordance with company standards. Direct the efforts of interns and others through mentoring. Coordinate architectural work with other disciplines’ work. Maintain project files in accordance with established standards and procedures. Assess, solve, and document issues during construction. Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.
Other preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- 3 years experience in Architecture, Architectural Design, or a related occupation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Revu Bluebeam, Sefaira, Athena Impact Estimator, Google Sketch Up, LEED Online
- Experience within any or all of our sectors of practice, including commercial and public.
